DHARMA COLLEGE

Dharma College is an extension of the Tibetan Nyingma Institute, an organization dedicated to teaching Tibetan Buddhism in Berkeley. Housed in the Armstrong College Building, a registered City of Berkeley Historic Landmark, we were asked to update the facility to meet the college’s needs and unique culture, while still maintaining the historic fabric.

 

The project also included a new commercial kitchen and vegetarian cafe, located in the building’s basement, and accessible by a separate entry.

 

The building is adjacent to two other projects completed by us for the Institute: the Dharma Publishing Bookstore and the Tibetan Cultural Center.
