WOODSIDE PRIORY SCHOOL STREAM BUILDING
Woodside Priory School retained the services of Goring & Straja Architects for the second time to create a new classroom building devoted to the sciences, technology, robotics, engineering, arts, and math. After careful study of the site master plan, the design team decided to situate the new STREAM classroom building where the school's old art building stood. Characterized by gently inclined to moderately steep rolling hillside topography, this portion of the campus placed the building on higher ground, providing it with expansive southwest views.
The new development consists of two separate wings housed under a single continuous roof. In addition to traditional classrooms, the building provides rooms designed specifically for instruction in ceramics, lamp working, glass blowing, metal working, and robotics. A covered courtyard located between the building's two wings provides students with protected outdoor workspace.
